Former Kenyan presidential candidate Quincy Timberlake has pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges. Timberlake who is married to former KTN news anchor Esther Arunga, is accused of killing their three-year-old son, Sinclair. He is said to have killed the boy at their Kallangur home north of Brisbane, Australia. The accused was set to go to trial but instead pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed people are being smuggled out of the country through the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). In a memo dated September 6, DCI’s Anti Terrorism Police Unit at the JKIA said the alleged smuggling is taking place with the help of airport staff. “This office has noted with a lot of concern that people are being smuggled in and out of the country through JKIA with the assistance of airport staff,” said the memo. At least four al-Shabaab terror suspects were killed in a dusk raid on a hideout in Harbole-Fafi area in Garissa County. Officials said multi agency teams raided their hideout in an ambush and recovered Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) making materials, medicine and other assorted items. Two people were Tuesday arrested while transporting more than 600 kilograms of endangered sandalwood in Isiolo. The two were intercepted by a multi-agency team while driving a Toyota Wish car in Noolotoro area on September 12. The wood was hidden in the rear side of the car, police said. Two minors were killed in separate fire incidents reported in the country. Property of unknown value was destroyed in the incidents, police said. Detectives are investigating the suspected murder of a college student whose body was found on the roadside in Thika Town, Kiambu County. The body of a hairdresser who went missing two weeks ago was found dumped in a pit latrine in Mlolongo area, Machakos County. The body was found a few kilometers from her workstation in the area, police said. The Supreme Court has thrown out a petition challenging the registration of LGBTQ lobby groups under the NGOs Act.
