Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has withdrawn a case challenging a list of colleagues proposed for the conferment of coveted Senior Counsel title. Kipkorir had moved to court in October last year after a committee responsible for vetting lawyers interested in joining the Senior Counsel club failed to list him among the list of 24 advocates. 117 more people have tested positive for the novel Coronavirus disease in the country raising the national tally to 4,374. Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rashid Aman said on Friday that a total of 3,043 samples had been tested in the last 24 hours. So far, Kenya has tested a total of 133,541 samples. Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia has appointed engineer Silas Murira Kinoti as Director-General, the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA). In a statement on Friday, the CS said Kinoti’s appointment to the position, analogous to a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), took effect on June 18. “Eng. Kenya has trounced Djibouti to clinch the United Nations Security Council seat in a highly competitive poll today. Kenya secured the nonpermanent seat after garnering 129 votes against Djibouti’s 62 in the second round of voting after felling short of the required threshold yesterday.
