Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has constituted a team of prospects to review files of five top Kenyan banks believed to have concealed, facilitated and abetted Ksh9 billion NYS scam. In a statement on Thursday, Haji noted that investigators drawn from the office of the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) found out that Kenya Commercial Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Equity Bank, Cooperative Bank and Diamond Trust Bank were involved in the scandal. “The DCI has today forwarded the investigation files relating to the commercial banks with recommendations,” said Haji. Tanzanian hitmaker Rajab Abdul Kahali alias Harmonize on Wednesday attacked a Journalist at Central Police Station in Dar Salaam after he attempted to video tape him. Harmonize who is facing drug abuse claims, is said to have smashed the journalist’s camera before running to the station’s waiting room. Members of Parliament aligned to the Orange Democratic Movement have said the Tanga Tanga Movement which they associate with Deputy President William Ruto is a doomed voyage. A Nairobi court on Tuesday imprisoned a retired teacher for 15 years for defiling three school girls. The Star reported that Moby Odoyo, an English and Mathematics, is said to have committed the crime between March and June 2010. The Supreme Court of Kenya has upheld Fahim Twaha’s election as Lamu Governor dismissing Issa Timamy’s petition. In its ruling on Wednesday, the judges concurred with the appellate court’s ruling that dismissed Timamy’s case on grounds of merit. “We are in agreement with the CA that the scrutiny report was considered and irregularities were appreciated,” they said. Former Jubilee party vice Chair David Murathe on Tuesday escalated his tussle with Deputy President William Ruto, declaring allegiance to President Uhuru Kenyatta. Three journalists from the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) are recuperating after they were involved in a road accident near Molo, along Eldoret Nakuru-Eldoret Highway on Monday.
