A postmortem examination on the body of Nakuru GK Prison warder has revealed that the deceased was strangled to death.

According to an autopsy report by Government pathologist Titus Ngulungu, the body of Caroline Jepchirchir Chesire had blood clots on the neck, nose, tongue and on both hands.

The examination was carried out at the Nakuru War Memorial Hospital mortuary.

Chepchirchir uncle noted: “The doctor informed us after the postmortem that Caroline was strangled. The body had blood clots on the neck, tongue, nose and hands.”

The body of the 28-year-old, who went missing last week, was found on Wednesday in a thicket at Githiolo village in Subukia sub-county.

One person has been arrested in connection to the incident.

The man identified as Joseph Kairu, is said to be the last person seen with the deceased on the day she went missing.

Nakuru Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) David Wangai, confirmed the arrest.

Earlier, Nakuru Town East sub-county police commander Ellen Kabukuru revealed that a report of the missing warder was first made by the deceased’s father Michael Chesire at Nakuru Central Police Station on Monday evening.
