    Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino has been released on a cash bail of Sh 200,000 or a bond of Sh. 500,000.

    Owino has been released on condition that he does not interfere with or intimidate witnesses.

    The newly elected legislator was re-arrested on Wednesday and charged with causing harm to a voter and ANC member, Joshua Otieno Obiende on August 8.

    He was accused of injuring him and forcefully disallowing him to discharge his civic duty on the said day at the Soweto Social hall.

    The MP on Thursday told the court that he was harassed while being held at the Pangani police station on Monday.

    There were celebrations in the Kibera Court after his release.
