Detectives are investigating an incident where a 16-year-old boy was found dead after suspected murder in a village in Macalder, Migori County.

The incident happened Sunday in Got Orango area, police said adding his body was found in a compound of a neighbour.

The body did not have any visible injuries when it was discovered, police said, adding it was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

The owner of the compound where the body was found was arrested a few hours later for grilling. Police said they were yet to establish the motive of the murder.

In Rachuonyo, Homa Bay County, one Seth Okoth, 35 was stabbed and killed in an altercation.

Police said four men were arguing over unclear reasons before one of them stabbed and killed the deceased on Saturday dawn.

He was stabbed in the chest. The murder weapon, a kitchen knife, was recovered about 20 meters from the scene, police said.

Locals who responded to the scene torched a motorcycle belonging to one of the suspects in the murder in anger, police said.

Police staged an operation in the area and arrested an injured suspect in the murder. He had two deep cuts on the head and was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and discharged under police guard.

Police said they were looking for more suspects in connection with the murder as the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the discovery of the body of a man in Lake Naivasha.

Fishermen in the Kihoto area said they found the body floating before alerting the police on Sunday morning. The body was later retrieved and the man identified as Martin Nyongesa Wanyonyi, 30.

A sack with a pair of military combat uniform, an Angola jungle shirt, a jungle belt and a panga was found at the banks of the lake. There was also a mobile phone therein, police said.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
