Kenyan workers at Richard Branson’s camp in the Maasai Mara are crying as the racist expatriates managing the camp abuse and infringe on their labour rights. The employees numbering more than 10 complain that the Australian General Manager who is head of the facility is treating them badly.

They are overworked and underpaid while they are also not allowed to join any union. The workers complain that they get constantly abused by Ken and Michelle Dyball (couple managing the camp). The couple previously managed Naibor luxury camp which is also located in the Maasai Mara. Workers at Naibor camp went on strike more than 4 times complaining about the mistreatment by the couple.

The couple constantly yells and spew racial slurs against their subjects. They sack employees at will and order them out of the camp even in the middle of the night while not caring for their safety.

Some of the camp’s employees who have left in the past 3 months are; Laon Kisemei, Rais Nkurumwa, Alex Kantai, John Ngeno(poiyo), Freida Thangu, Kevin Mahebo, Charity Wahome, Mike Mwololo, Grace Mwaisaka, Jackson Kilayo, John Rinka, Robert Karogo and David Mathews.

The Nissan Navara which is used in the camp but doesn’t have proper registrations.

The couple has also illegally imported a Nissan Navara 4×4 through Tanzania without following protocol. The vehicle’s chassis number, number plate registration and log book are different. The vehicle’s insurance expired long time ago. It has not been renewed. It has been in the country for years hidden in the bush where it was recently repainted but the change in paint does not reflect on the logbook

The camp has also been operating without a license for the past 9 months.

The camp doesn’t have a Kenyan based HR office with all recruitment and personnel issues being handled by a lady named Lynn who is based in Virgin’s London office.
