A delivery man was found murdered and his body abandoned outside his house in the Ruaka area, Kiambu County.

Police said the body of Douglas Abutsu, 21 was found with a deep cut in the palm of the left hand, abdomen, back and shoulder on Sunday November 9 morning in Sir Rueben area.

His neighbours said that the two ladies visited him at dawn but the deceased was not in the house.

The neighbors overheard the women calling him several times requesting to see him. When the deceased said that he was almost arriving, the two ladies left to meet him outside the compound where commotion was heard.

It was at that point he was hacked to death and the assailants left the scene. The motive of the murder was not immediately known, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

Elsewhere in Rachuonyo, Homa Bay County, one Fidel Omondi Adwol, 20 was found murdered.

Police said his body was found lying on the roadside with deep cuts on the head. The deceased was attacked by unknown men at Kideswa area over unknown reasons.

The assailants escaped the scene leaving the deceased lying in a pool of blood. Police said they are investigating the Sunday evening incident.

Two of his friends who were with him escaped unhurt. Police said they had interrogated them as part of the probe into the fatal attack.

There has been a rise in fatal attacks in the area amid political tensions ahead of the planned by-election at the end of November, 2025.

Police have deployed more personnel in the area to address the menace.

Last week, two men were killed in a clash between two groups. Dozens others were injured in the clashes. Police are investigating the saga.
