The disputes involving Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o and his cousins and nephews has deepened with the county boss’ wife, Dorothy being accused of propagating further divisions.
According to Kenneth Okuthe, Prof Nyongo’s nephew, Dorothy has conspired to block the governor’s siblings and family from visiting their mother who is reported to be in ICU ‘fighting’ for her life in a Nairobi Hospital.
“Dorothy has been ensuring that we be blocked from visiting our grandmother at the hospital saying we are capable of poisoning her,” lamented Okuthe.
In early 2018, Okuthe sued the county boss and his sister Dr Risper Nyagoy for leaving some relatives out of the list of beneficiaries of the senior Ny’ong’o’s multimillion estate.
The property under contention includes 100 acres of land in Miwani and apartments on Jogoo Road in Nairobi.
Others are parcels of land in Manyatta, Tamu, Milimani estate and East Rata in Seme Sub-County, Kisumu.

Speaking to one of the local dailies, Okuthe divulged that Prof Nyong’o recently called for a family meeting in a bid to draft an out-of court agreement on the contested property.
However, there was no agreement as Okuthe claims that the governor tried to offer each of the contending parties Ksh20 million each, an offer which they declined.
This was a move contrary to what a court in Kisumu ruled in October 11, last year, where it ordered that Okuthe ought to be appointed as a co-administrator in the lucrative estate.
He stated that, the offer was too little compared to the value of all the property which is estimated to be worth Ksh3 billion.
The alleged meeting is claimed to have been attended by the governor, his wife, Dorothy Nyong’o, Mark Bloch and Mary Owiti while Hollywood star Lupita Nyony’o, Tavia and Esther Nyong’o joined them through video conference from Hollywood, San Francisco and New York respectively.
The meeting is further claimed to have ended prematurely as Nyong’o and Mudhune led their team back to court as they appealed the given court ruling made in October.
