    Gang raids Lugulu shops in Busia shoot in the air, rob owners of more than Sh500,000

    Detectives are hunting for a gang that raided a mini market in Lugulu Market, Busia County and robbed the attendants of Sh300,000.

    The gang also attacked other adjacent shops and robbed the attendants of cash and mobile phones in the March 24 drama.

    Police said the a gang of six men armed with two pistols and a rifle and on board two unmarked motorcycles unleashed terror in the market before escaping.

    They first raided a mini market and grabbed cash before proceeding to other nearby shops where they robbed attendants of mobile phones.

    They later jumped onto their waiting motorcycles and escaped.

    After the robbery, the gangs fled while aboard the waiting motorcycles while firing in the air to an unknown location.

    Police visited the scene and recovered a spent cartridge.

    No arrest has been made so far, police said adding a hunt on the gang is ongoing.

    In Imenti, Meru County, police are looking for a gang that robbed a rider and his two pillion passengers of cash and mobile phones.

    The gang of three also sexually assaulted a woman who was among the passengers, police said.

    She was rushed to a local hospital and attended to.

    Police said the gang had forced the rider and his passengers off the motorcycle before embarking on their mission.

    They later grabbed about Sh8,000 from the victims and escaped, police said adding no arrest had been made.

    In Oyugis, Homabay, a gang broke into Omollo Mado Primary School and stole therein assorted goods of unknown value.

    Police said no arrest has been.

    A hunt on the gang is ongoing, police said.
