
Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti’s election has lost his seat after the petition of his election was nullified by the court citing the elections were not credible.
The Kisumu court of appeal heard the case that was challenged by Oyugi Magwanga, a candidate of the gubernatorial seat.
The court upheld the decision that was earlier ruled by the High Court.

Meanwhile, Luanda Member of Parliament, Chris Omuele’s election has been upheld and the appellant ordered to pay costs.
The judge ruled the case citing technicality because both the record of appeal and notice of appeal were filed in Kakamega instead of Kisumu.
Shinyalu MP, Justus Kizito and Ikolomani MP, Berard Shinyali’s election cases have also been upheld.
