Detectives are investigating an incident where a night guard was found murdered and his body abandoned outside a garage where he worked in Ruai area, Nairobi.
The man identified as Yamurenge Rarisoni was a Burundi national.
His body had deep cuts on the head with blood caked around it off Kangundo Road.
His hands were tied from behind with a shoelace. Police said they are yet to know the motive of the attack.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
In the same area, a motorcyclist was lynched by a mob on claim he was a thief.
Police said they were informed the deceased had on June 28 tried to rob a pedestrian of his mobile phone when an alarm was raised alerting a mob.
The mob chased and cornered him before stoning him to death. The mob later set the body on fire.
Police arrived at the scene minutes later and moved the body to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
His damaged motorcycle was found next to the body and was moved to the local police station.
Police discourage mob lynching and want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing and action.
Elsewhere in Ngomeni, Chasimba, Kilifi County, a man was found dead in his house after an attack.
Police said Nyiro Mwachambi, 75 was sleeping in his house with his wife when unknown assailants raided.
The door of the house was not closed at the time of the attack, the family said.
The motive of the attack is yet to be known, police said.

Such murder incidents targeting the aged have been on the rise in the region amid a campaign to address the trend.
