Hassan Omar Has Ideological Grounding, Hassan Joho is Ideologically Emaciated

When all is said and done, let it not be forgotten that Hassan Omar had to flee from the great, Moi University to escape from the former president’s wrath because of his activism against a dictatorial rule.

Let it not be forgotten too that Hassan is a shrewd lawyer, a respected human rights defender and a passionate debator. His record at Senate is there for all to see.

Omar is tried, tested and proven. He has balls. Steel balls. At KNHCR Omar stood strong against the régime’s excesses. He called out the security chiefs by name at a time when extra judicial killings were at peak.

Let it not be forgotten that not only is Omar a politician but a technocrat. A brilliant mind,an intellectual heavy weight who can easily inject some life back to Mombasa’s development agenda.

He has a core. He has an element. He has an idealogical grounding.

Hassan Omar is self made. Neither is he from an affluent background nor has a big brother supremo to supplement his political might.

Let it not also be forgotten that he has never lost an election. From his days at the university.

Some of you will have to forgive us. Not everybody is a fan of populist confrontational politics. Not all of us idealogically align ourselves to persons whose only claim to fame is teenage swag, beards, flowery but emotional Kiswahili rhetorics.

Finally let it not be forgotten that Hassan Omar can write an official letter without assistance, can read county fiscal policies on his own and can independently analyze the county’s budget and formulate implementation strategies- on his own!

Worthy to note, Hassan Omar squares it out like a man. He doesn’t need to play victim to evoke political sympathy.
