    The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced that the training for examiners of the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) will take place in March and April 2025.

    In a notice issued on Tuesday, KNEC stated that the training fee is Sh10,500, but only shortlisted applicants will be required to make payments.

    Those selected will receive a notification via SMS and through the application portal with details on how to complete the payment process.

    The training will be conducted in two phases: an online session followed by a physical, residential training.

    Shortlisted trainees will receive instructions on how to access the online training materials, while the venue for the residential training will be communicated later.

    Successful candidates will be engaged by KNEC to mark KJSEA assessments based on the council’s recruitment criteria and the personnel needs for each subject.

    To qualify, applicants must be practicing teachers or tutors in the relevant subject areas, registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or Public Service Commission. They must hold at least a Diploma in Education and have a minimum of three years of teaching experience.

    How to apply for KJSEA Examiner position

    Applicants must also meet additional requirements, including not being under any disciplinary action, securing a recommendation from their head of institution, and being 50 years old or below. Tutors from teacher training colleges and TVET institutions are encouraged to apply for Home Science.

    KNEC has outlined a step-by-step process for applications, which must be submitted through the examiners’ portal at https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke. Teachers with existing Cp2 accounts should log in using their credentials, while those who have forgotten their passwords can reset them using their mobile numbers. New applicants will need to create an account, fill in their details, and apply for the training under the “apply for training” section on the dashboard.
