    Huawei to Open its Nairobi Training Centre to Kenyan Engineering Students

    Huawei is set to sign an MOU with University of Nairobi and JKUAT to open its Nairobi training centre to Telecommunications Engineering students from the two universities. The ceremony will be witnessed by PS Ndemo, Minister Sambili, Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore and Radoslaw Kedzia who is the Chief Operating Officer of Huawei Technologies.

    Students will not have to pay to use the facility located along Mombasa Road, which is part of the Huawei’s six training facilities across Africa. Others are in Nigeria, Angola, Tunisia, South Africa and Egypt. The Kenya facility is expected to be upgraded into a research and development center to enable graduates to develop and test their telecommunication inventions locally.

    The Kenyan training centre has;

    • 2 Training Lab
    • 5 Classrooms
    • 100 trainees at the same time
    • More than 25 professional instructors
    • Over 50 part-time instructors
