The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has reported delays affecting some departing flights at airports across the country, advising passengers to confirm their flight status with airlines.

In a statement, KAA said it was working with aviation agencies, airlines and other stakeholders to manage the disruption and minimise its impact on travellers.

“Kenya Airports Authority PLC wishes to advise passengers and other airport users that some departing flights are currently experiencing delays at our airports,” KAA said.

The authority said efforts were underway to facilitate the smooth flow of airport operations and minimise further disruptions.

KAA urged passengers to contact their respective airlines for the latest information on flight schedules and departure times.

The delays come amid disruptions at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), where operations were affected on Sunday by a go-slow involving staff of the Kenya Airports Authority and the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority.

Several flights scheduled to depart from JKIA from as early as 8am remained on the ground for several hours, leaving hundreds of passengers waiting for updates.

The disruption has resulted in frustration among travellers, with passengers facing uncertainty over when their flights would depart.

Airlines have also been managing the impact of the disruption as efforts continue to restore normal airport operations.

Passengers travelling through JKIA and other affected airports have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys and confirm their flight status with airlines before heading to the airport.
