Gor Mahia rallied from behind to beat Vipers SC of Uganda 2-1 at National Stadium, Dar on Sunday to book a spot in the Cecafa Kagame Cup semi-finals.

Despite trailing “the Venoms” at the breather courtesy of Tadeo Lwanga’s goal, K’Ogalo oozed experience to turn tables in the second half through Jacques Tuyisenge and Francis Mustafa.

Lwanga’s 15th minute opener was a beauty to behold, unleashing a long range stinger after being set up by former Gor’s dreadlocked striker Dan Sserunkuma.

It came as a surprise at a time K’Ogalo was bossing the proceedings and had already missed a few clear cut chances.

The coach Dylan Kerr’s side stuck to their game plan, troubling the Ugandan champions mostly from the wings with Innocent Wafula being their stand out player with his pin point crosses.

Tuyisenge leveled with only two minutes played in the second half with a timely flick off Francis Mustafa’s shot from inside the box.

The Burundian who recently joined Gor from Rwandan side Kiyovu, got his name on the score sheet, for his first for K’Ogalo, tapping in a rebound off Tuyisenge’s shot.

Gor will play the winner between Simba SC of Tanzania and AS Ports of Djibouti.
