Kenyan Premier League CEO Jack Oguda has dismissed Gor Mahia coach Hasan Oktayās assertions that the league body does not love the club.
Oktay is displeased that they have been scheduled to play Kakamega Homeboyz on Thursday a day since arriving from Alexandria, Egypt where they played a tough CAF Confederation Cup match against Zamalek SC on Sunday.
āI donāt know whatās wrong with KPL,ā the Cypriot told Goal. We have a huge match coming up on Sunday and they insist we play on Thursday. The Homeboyz tie should have been shelved. These KPL officials are not football people, they donāt love football and Gor Mahia.ā
But in a rejoinder, Jack has brushed off the allegations, saying āGor Mahia are victims of their own success.ā
āWhen you are a big club and doing well, you must be prepared for such tight fixtures. A club registers 30 players and can easily rotate to caution against a burnout.

āThe team has done well previously, playing midweek and over the weekends so why the cry all over sudden, is it because they lost to Zamalek?ā he posed.

A win for Gor Mahia will see them progress to the round of eight for the first time in their history.
