Lee Brice, born Kenneth Mobley Brice Jr. on June 10, 1979, in Sumter, South Carolina, is an American country music singer and songwriter.

Raised in a musical family, Brice developed a passion for music early, learning to play piano and guitar as a child while singing in church.

His early exposure to country music, influenced by his father’s love for groups like the Oak Ridge Boys and Alabama, shaped his artistic path.

Initially, Brice pursued a football scholarship at Clemson University, where he played as a long snapper, but an arm injury redirected his focus to a music career.

Since then, he has become a prominent figure in country music, blending traditional and modern elements to create songs that resonate with a wide audience.

    Siblings

Lee has one sibling, a younger brother named Lewis Brice, who is also a country music artist.

Born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina, Lewis has carved out his own path in the music industry while maintaining a close relationship with his older brother.

Lewis gained early recognition as a contestant on the first season of Country Music Television’s Can You Duet, finishing in eighth place.

Like Lee, Lewis grew up immersed in music, singing in church choirs and praise bands before moving to Nashville to pursue his career.

His music blends country, southern rock, and R&B, reflecting his South Carolina roots.

The brothers share a strong bond, evident in their first musical collaboration, the song “Product Of,” which serves as the title track for Lewis’s debut album released in July 2023.

    Career

Brice’s career began in earnest in 2007 when he started writing songs for other artists, including Garth Brooks’ chart-topping “More Than a Memory,” which became the first single to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Signed to Curb Records, Brice released his debut single, “She Ain’t Right,” in 2007, followed by his first album, Love Like Crazy, in 2010.

The title track became a record-breaking hit, spending 56 weeks on the country chart and peaking at number three.

Subsequent albums, including Hard 2 Love (2012), I Don’t Dance (2014), Lee Brice (2017), and Hey World (2020), solidified his place in country music.

Brice has released numerous hit singles, such as “A Woman Like You,” “Hard to Love,” “I Drive Your Truck,” and “One of Them Girls,” many of which reached number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

Beyond his own recordings, he has written songs for artists like Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, and Kenny Chesney.

Brice’s live performances are known for their energy, and he has toured extensively, including headlining his “Beer Drinking Opportunity Tour” in 2023.

    Accolades

Brice has secured nine number-one singles on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, including “I Don’t Dance,” which also inspired his third album’s title.

His duet with Carly Pearce, “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” won Single of the Year and Music Event of the Year at the 56th Annual ACM Awards, as well as Musical Event of the Year at the 54th Annual CMA Awards.

Brice’s song “One of Them Girls” was named the ASCAP 2021 Country Song of the Year.

He has been nominated for a Grammy and has won awards from the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Academy of Country Music (ACM).

Additionally, Brice is one of the most-streamed country artists on Pandora, receiving the Pandora Billionaire plaque, second only to Keith Urban.
