Lucy Mwari Marete was banking all her money with the Equity Bank, Kenyatta Avenue, NAKURU branch. Something funny occurred to her 4 years ago, an Equity Bank employee named Peris Njeri Maina stole Ksh 167,000 from her account no 0310191773142 by transferring the money to one Peter Sambili.

She was arrested, charged and released on a Ksh 10,000 cash bail. Nothing has happened in the case since then with all indications showing that the bank is blocking the conclusion of the case so as not to be held accountable. Lucy was forced to pay some Ksh 150,000 she owed the bank without consideration to what the bank’s employee did to her.

She is currently suffering living in shacks while her daughter can’t go to Nakuru Girls School as she lack school fees. The bank is not interested in seeing a conclusion to this matter.
