
Veteran Vitimbi actress, Mary Kavere popularly known as Mama Kayai has been inducted into the Riverwood Awards Hall of Fame.
The star-studded event happened on Saturday at the Acacia Premier Hotel in Kisumu town to acknowledge stars in the film industry.
Mary Kevere had the honor of receiving the Grand Warrior Award which is also the feted induction to the Riverwood Awards Hall of Fame.
KFCB Boss, Ezekiel Mutua announced that KFCB would also honor the acting matriarch by naming a section of the Kenya Cinema building in Nairobi after her.

He also promised that a special fund would be set up to help her start and run a business.
Mama Kayai has been in the film industry for over 30 years and this is among the first efforts in the industry to support the the pioneers of the acting field.
