The body of a man was found on the road with a crushed head in Embali, Vihiga County.

The incident was staged to look like an accident, police said.

A bicycle with a jerrican carrying milk lay next to the body, witnesses said.

It was established that the body was of Zablon Aruka, 48. Police said the body had several cuts in the head and his skull was broken.

The body’s right wrist was chopped off. Police said the body was ferried to the scene after murder elsewhere.

Locals said Aruka has been ferrying milk to a local Yala Dairies using his bicycle on a daily basis.

The motive of the October 11, 2025 murder incident is yet to be known, police said.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Elsewhere in Hola, Tana River County, the body of a missing teenage boy was found in a thicket after suspected murder.

Police said the deceased went missing on September 23, 2025 in the area and the incident had been reported to authorities.

The body was discovered on October 11, 2025 in Emmaus area with multiple cuts on the head.

The motive of the murder was not immediately known.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations.

Police said no arrest had been made in connection with the murder.

And in Sondu, Kericho County, two suspects were arrested over murder incidents in the area.

One of the suspects was rescued by police and taken to Kericho after a mob threatened to overrun the station while the second one surrendered saying he feared being lynched.

Police said they are investigating the murder claims. The rescued man was taken to hospital and later moved to Kericho for his own safety, police said.
