Police have arrested the mother of the child who had 14 needles in her body in what doctors have termed a ‘bizarre incident.’
The children’s officer in Thika, Rebecca Kariuki said the case had earlier been reported by the mother but she waited for the girl to be treated before they could follow up.

She also indicated that the other two children who are minors would also be taken away.
“The mother is the only one who can give us information if it is child abuse and since she is not ready to talk then we are taking the child. We will also rescue her other two children who are also minors,” said Ms Kariuki.
The Mother, Jacinta Ndunge was arrested and taken to the police station to record a statement. She however insists that she also does not understand how the needles got to the body of the child and that she only discovered the needles while applying jelly on the child’s bottom.
