The National Construction Authority (NCA) has warned the public about fraudsters posing as NCA officials and demanding money in exchange for fake job opportunities.
In a public notice issued on April 29, 2024, NCA Executive Director Maurice Akech said the Authority had received reports of imposters conning job seekers.
“It has come to the attention of the National Construction Authority (NCA) that persons masquerading as officers of the Authority have been obtaining money by false pretences from members of the public under the guise of securing employment,” Akech said.
He clarified that all genuine recruitment by the Authority is announced through official channels, including local newspapers, the NCA website (www.nca.go.ke), and verified social media pages.
Akech emphasized that recruitment is done competitively and in line with the Public Service Commission guidelines. He added that the NCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and gender equality.
“The Authority does not charge for recruitment, and any request for payment during this process is both illegal and unethical,” he stated. “Such cases should be reported to the Authority, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, the Office of the Ombudsman, or the nearest police station.”
He also urged venues that offer spaces for interviews on behalf of the Authority to first confirm the authenticity of such bookings through NCA’s official communication lines to avoid unknowingly supporting fraudulent activities.
