Migori County ODM chairman Philip Makabong’o wants the county assembly members to oust embattled county governor Zachary Okoth Obado.

The fiery Makabong’o in a series of WhatsApp messages asked the ward representatives to take action within two weeks, failure to which the party will be forced to intervene.

Obado has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend Sharon Otieno and her unborn son “baby Sharon.”

The county boss has been missing at the county government offices for over a month since his arrest. This Makabong’o says is one of the reasons why he (Obado) should be impeached.

“The Migori county assembly members are sleeping in class or they don’t understand their legislative obligations!” the ODM chairperson said.

“Kindly deal within two weeks or the party will intervene,” he added.

The ODM party leader Raila Odinga while campaigning for the Migori Senator Ochillo Ayacko said that Obado should carry his own cross.

“So far all indicators are pointing at Obado, let him prove his innocence in court,” Raila said.

The governor is currently being remanded at the Industrial Area Prison pending his bail ruling on Wednesday, 24 October.
