    Police probe murder after body found dumped along Malaba road in Busia

    Police in Teso South Sub-County, Busia County launched investigations into a suspected murder after the body of an unidentified man was discovered dumped along the Amerikwai–Malaba Road.

    The incident was reported at about 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, after members of the public alerted police that a body was lying in a pool of blood by the roadside.

    Police officers visited the scene as part of the probe into the murder.

    The motive of the incident was not known.

    The deceased, an unknown African male believed to be about 34 years old, had visible cut wounds on his left leg and bruises on both legs, raising suspicion that he had been assaulted before his body was dumped at the location.

    Crime scene personnel processed and documented the scene before the body was transferred to the Busia Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting identification and a post-mortem examination.

    Police have launched investigations to establish the victim’s identity, the circumstances surrounding his death, and those responsible for the suspected killing.

    And an unidentified man believed to be about 40 years old was found dead near Kombewa Bridge in Seme Sub-County, Kisumu County.

    According to police, the incident was reported Wednesday morning, prompting officers from Kombewa Police Station and detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Seme to visit the scene.

    The body of the African male adult was found lying face down near Kombewa Market. Police said the deceased appeared to have been mentally challenged, as a sack containing dirty clothes believed to belong to him was found beside the body.

    Residents told investigators they did not know the man’s identity.

    Police processed the scene and observed no visible injuries on the body. The remains were moved to the Kombewa County Hospital mortuary, where they are awaiting a post-mortem examination and formal identification.

    Detectives said they want to know if the man was killed elsewhere and the body dumped at he scene.
