The President of Ghana has flown up to $3million in cash to Brazil to please the country’s restless World Cup squad who were getting more agitated over a bonus payments dispute.

The cash which arrived in Brazil on a private plane on Wednesday as Ghana will see each team member get between $75,000 and $100,000. The money might be a big boost team’s morale as it prepare for their decisive Group G game against Portugal tonight.

It is not clear how Ghana was able to bring such a huge amount of money into Brazil without paying Tax. Individuals are allowed to bring only upto $4,500 in cash into Brazil without paying tax.

Ghana must win this game and hope that Germany beat the United States heavily in the other group match if they are to progress further in the World Cup.

Meanwhile, The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has suspended Sulley Ali Muntari indefinitely from the Black Stars with immediate effect.

According to GFA, the decision was taken in the wake of his unprovoked physical attack on an Executive Committee member of the GFA and a management member of the Black Stars, Mr. Moses Armah on Tuesday 24th June, 2014 during a meeting.

Muntari’s accreditation for the 2014 World Cup has been withdrawn with immediate effect.

The $3 million flown to Brazil might be part of the at least $8 million that FIFA guarantees each country participating in the World Cup, even if it is knocked out in the group stage.
