Princess Lilibet is celebrating a major milestone.

The daughter of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry turned five years old on June 4, and her proud mother marked the occasion by sharing rare family photos on Instagram.

In a heartfelt birthday tribute, Meghan posted two images showing her daughter’s striking red hair, a feature she inherited from her father.

“Our dream girl. Happy 5th birthday, Lili,” Meghan wrote alongside a heart emoji.

One photo shows Harry holding Princess Lilibet in his arms while Meghan smiles beside them. Another captures the young royal walking barefoot through what appears to be the gardens of the family’s home in Montecito, California. In both images, Lilibet wears an embroidered sundress and her long red hair flows freely.

    Who Is Princess Lilibet?

Princess Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born in June 2021 in California, more than a year after Harry and Meghan stepped back from their duties as working members of the British royal family.

She is the younger child of the Sussexes and the sister of Prince Archie, who was born in the United Kingdom in May 2019.

Lilibet’s name honors both her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, whose childhood nickname was “Lilibet,” and her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

Unlike many members of the royal family, Lilibet has largely been raised away from public attention.

Since relocating to California in 2020, Harry and Meghan have sought to give their children a more private upbringing. However, Meghan has occasionally shared glimpses of family life through her personal Instagram account, which she launched in 2025.

Fans have seen snippets of family vacations, special celebrations and everyday moments, including a recent trip to Disneyland.

Last month, Meghan also featured Lilibet in an Instagram post while preparing for a trip to Switzerland. In the image, the young royal helped her mother pack, prompting Meghan to caption the post: “Mama’s little helper.”

One detail that often captures public attention is Lilibet’s red hair, which she shares with both Prince Harry and her older brother Archie.

The latest birthday photos offered one of the clearest looks yet at the five-year-old’s vibrant locks, which have become a distinctive family trait.

Although Meghan and Harry continue to keep much of their children’s lives private, special occasions such as birthdays have given royal fans a rare glimpse into how Archie and Lilibet are growing up in California.
