A family has accused a church linked to Prophet David Owuor’s Repentance and Holiness Ministries of taking advantage of their sibling.
According to the family, their kin, Jane Njagi, formerly a partner at J M Njagi Advocates has been brainwashed into giving up her fortunes.
They further castigated the Kings Outreach Church of taking her money and property to fund their agenda.
Ms Njagi is said to have given up her apartments on Raphta Road, Westlands after the church through prayers rid her son of dyslexia.
“As a thank you, Ms Njagi dedicated her Riverside Drive home to the church for Bible study,” the church’s lawyer Kimani Watenga told reporters.
Her sister, Alice Macharia divulged that they could not reach their sibling when their mother passed away.

At the time, she added, their sister was heavily guarded. Their brother, Duncan was allowed access after he showed up with their mother’s obituary in one of the dailies.
The family also noted that her once luxurious apartments have been turned into the church’s head office but we’re vacated last week.
Mr Watenga on the other hand noted that the church has no interest in Ms Njagi’s properties and will leave if she so wishes.
She is allegedly living with a Lily Muthoni Macharia, also a member of the church who took over her finances after she noticed Ms Njagi was forgetful.
Her aim, she said was to make sure that Ms Njagi was not exploited.
Prophet Owuor is not shy of controversies; ranging from sexual assault to brainwashing.
In fact it has been said that his “poor” followers give a huge chunk of their wages to the church as they languish in poverty.
