    David Rudisha Drops Out Of World Athletics Championships

    800m world record holder and defending champion David Rudisha has opted out of the world Athletics Championships in London.

    Rudisha is said to have strained his quad muscle. He announced his pullout from the team via twitter.

    The 28 year old athlete  is the current record holder and was said to be on the front line to acquire a third successive gold medal in the world championships. Rudisha is currently ranked 19th in the world.

    In his absence Kenya will be represented by the radiant Emmanuel Korir who will face off with Botswana’s Nijel Amos.

    The competition will run from 4 to 13 August 2017.
