Harambee Stars manager Sebastien Migne has given the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) a quit notice over nonpayment.

Migne, who has been on the job for five months now has only been paid twice by the government.

He has since given FKF up-to 15 October 2018 to be paid for the remaining months or he resigns.

“The coach has been here for five months and the government has only paid for two months.

We have not been able to pay for his July, August and September salaries and we have received an official letter from him saying he has to be paid by 15th,” FKF boss Nick Mwendwa disclosed.

The government through the ministry of sports agreed to shoulder the burden of paying the national team coach and his backroom staff.

Despite the off the field distractions, Migne is expected to prepare Stars for next week’s back to back Afcon 2019 qualifiers against Ethiopia.

With Sierra Leone suspended by FIFA, four points from Ethiopia will be enough to see Kenya qualify for the Afcon for the first time in 14 years.

The West African country was in the same qualifying group (F) alongside Kenya, Ghana and Ethiopia and had beaten Kenya 2-1 last year.

Following the ban that was communicated Friday, all results involving them stand cancelled, handing Kenya a golden opportunity to break the Afcon jinx.
