Police are investigating an incident where a senior female police officer collapsed and died in her compound in Juja, Kiambu County.
According to police, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Susan Mangiso Sarioyo collapsed and died in a poultry house in her compound within Jacaranda Court Estate, Juja South.
She was the in charge of personnel at the Kasarani police sub-county. Police said the officer was on leave at the time of the incident.
The cause of the death is yet to be determined, police said.
Police cited neighbours saying they heard screams from her compound on Thursday March 27 afternoon and on rushing there, they found her lifeless body on the floor.
Senior police officers visited the scene and confirmed the same.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
This is the second such incident to happen in weeks. Up to four officers have collapsed and died in the past month alone.
For instance, a female officer had two weeks ago collapsed and died outside Mbaraki police station in Mombasa. The cause of the death was not disclosed.
She had returned her gun to the station and was walking out when she collapsed and died.
