    Standard Newspaper Declines To Apologize To Justice Lenaola Over Links To NASA Lawyers

    Standard MediaThe Standard Newspaper has responded to Justice Lenaola calling him to explain or contradict statement that alleged that he and Deputy chief justice Philomena Mwilu had ties with NASA before the Supreme Court Ruling.

    The Standard Group in their through their lawyer said that the the judge was had a right under section 7(2) of the defamation Act to explain and contradict any allegations that affect him.

    The print media company expressed their willingness to allow Justice Lenaola to publish a contradictory statement contrary to the one made.

    The Standard Newspaper said that they only reported the statement as was in the petition by Derrick Malika Ngumu and that they had no ill intention to tarnish the name of the judge.

    They further claimed that the legally published the story as it was a matter of Public interest.
