A Kenyan woman was on Sunday found dead in Peoria, Arizona with a rope around her neck in her car.

Stella Kiarie, 29, was an employee of the Arizona Department of Health Services before her untimely death.

According to a local daily, Ms Kiarie was found by Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials who in their report stated that the deceased had “injuries that were not consistent with the minor collision of the car against the wall.”

In her car was a child safety seat which led investigators to look for a child at her home. They are said to have found a one year old boy all alone in the apartment.

The Department of Child Safety has apparently taken custody of the child and her family which resides in Seattle, Washington is closely following up on the case.

Kenyans living in Arizona have called on investigators to speed up the probe as some read foul play into her death.

“The Kenyan community in Arizona is in shock. We are urging the authorities to speed up investigations because we need answers and we need to know exactly what or who murdered Stella,” said John Kamau, a Kenyan living Phoenix, Arizona.

Her colleagues have eulogized her as “a kind, compassionate and important member of this team.”

Her burial date is yet to be set.
