There was drama at the Kangari police station, Murang’a County, when a taxi driver drove there with a female body that had been wrapped in a paper bag and disguised as a parcel.

The woman had been killed at an unknown place and her body tightly wrapped in blankets and a paper bag, police said.

The driver told police he was on Tuesday September 23, 2025, ferrying passengers from Makomboki center to Kangari township when he was stopped by an unknown man.

The person was dressed in black jeans and a black hoodie.

He, according to the taxi driver, asked him to ferry a package to the Kangari stage and was being expected by someone at a local bus stop for onward delivery to Nairobi.

He paid the driver the delivery fee in cash and pretended to call the receiver of the package.

The taxi driver said the man loaded the cargo and he hit the road.

He reached the Kangari stage but could not find anybody waiting for the package as earlier indicated.

And when they tried to unload the package it was suspiciously heavy and tightly wrapped, which raised his concerns.

The driver became suspicious of the package and reported it to the Kangari police station where it was unwrapped by officers.

The officers said they found the package to contain a fresh corpse of a lady aged between 45 and 50.

The deceased was dressed in a red dress and without undergarments and was wrapped in three blankets, various clothing and one blazer bearing a logo of Gatanga CCM Secondary was also found loaded in two white sacks.

The body of the deceased was moved to AIC Githumu hospital awaiting autopsy and identification.

The Taxi driver and one passenger were detained to aid in investigations. Their car was also detained, police said.

The police were working to identify the body.

Elsewhere in Kikumini, Machakos County, police said they are investigating murder after human body parts were discovered there.

The incident happened in the Sikia area on September 23, 2025.

The police said the body parts were discovered at a homestead after being taken there by the dogs. Police who visited the scene said the parts were arms and feet.

A search was staged in the area and remains of a decomposed female body was found in a nearby thicket.

The body had been clothed with female dress when it was found.

Police said the body parts were moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.

The police want to establish the motive of the murder and those behind the same.
