Fuel prices have continued to rise in the latest review by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). In this latest review the price of Diesel has gone up by Sh. 1.60 while the price of Kerosene has shot up by Sh. 0.43.
The price f Petrol has however decreased by Sh.1.06 and will retail at Sh,115.73 in Nairobi.The prices will however vary in different towns. The ERC said that the increase was as result of the landed cost.
“The changes in this month prices have been as a consequence of the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreasing by 1.99 percent from USD 743.85 per ton in August 2018 to USD 729.04 per ton in September 2018.
“Diesel increasing by 2.11 percent from USD 685.95 per ton to USD 700.41 per ton. Kerosene increasing by 0.60 percent from USD 717.30 per ton to USD 721.64 per ton,” read the statement by ERC.

This month the ERC had to calculate and recalculate the fuel costs as a result of the increase in the VAT on fuel fro 15% to 8%. Kenyans have however continued to complain stating that it is too high.
