Wafula Chebukati’s senior advisor Mr. Gekari Muoni has instructed his lawyers to sue a local daily over leakage of memos.
On Monday September 25, the Daily Nation published a story stating that he had been fired on grounds that he was behind the leakage of the commission’s memos.
Mr. Gekari Muoni said that he was on leave at the time that the memos were being leaked and he had nothing to do with the leakage.

Through his lawyers, he said that the article has lowered his professional reputation and asked to have the local daily withdraw the publication and follow up with an apology.
Two internal Memos from the office of the IEBC chairman have been leaked to the public.
The first one was on the twelve issues raised to the CEO Ezra Chiloba and the second memo proposed disciplinary action against members within the commission who were said to be culpable for the bungled election.
