    Will Richard is a senior guard for the Florida Gators, standing at 6’5″ and weighing 206 pounds. Originally from Fairburn, Georgia, he has been an important contributor to the team during the 2024-25 NCAA basketball season.

    This year, he is averaging 10.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, making him one of the team’s top performers as the Gators hold a 5-2 record in SEC play, placing them third in the conference standings.

    Throughout his career, Richard has consistently demonstrated his value on the court.

    During the 2023-24 season, he averaged 14.7 points per game and was recognized as the team’s most reliable three-point shooter with an impressive 51.8% shooting accuracy from beyond the arc.

    In recent performances, Richard has continued to shine.

    He scored 22 points against South Carolina, including a clutch game-winning layup, and achieved a career-high of 24 points in a game against Georgia.

    Both of his siblings, along with his parents, attended Clemson University, where his father was a defensive lineman.

    College career

    Richard began his collegiate basketball career at Belmont University, where he quickly established himself as a promising player.

    During his freshman season in 2021-22, he played in 33 games, averaging 12.1 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.

    His shooting was impressive, with a field goal percentage of 46.8% including a solid performance from three-point range.

    Richard’s contributions helped Belmont secure a strong season, and he earned recognition as a member of the OVC All-Newcomer Team.

    Transfer to the University of Florida

    In 2022, Richard made the decision to transfer to the University of Florida to compete in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), which is known for its high level of competition.

    In his first season with the Gators (2022-23), he played in 32 games, averaging 10.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

    His shooting efficiency remained strong, as he maintained a field goal percentage of 49.3%. Richard’s ability to contribute both offensively and defensively made him an integral part of the Gators’ lineup.

    As he progressed into his junior year (2023-24), Richard continued to develop his game, averaging 11.4 points per game with a shooting percentage of 41.1% from three-point range.

    Richard has achieved several accolades throughout his college basketball career, showcasing his talent and contributions to his teams.

    During his freshman year at Belmont University (2021-22), Richard was recognized for his outstanding performance by earning Freshman All-OVC honors.

    He averaged 12.1 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, which helped him stand out in the Ohio Valley Conference.

    After transferring to the University of Florida in 2022, Richard continued to make an impact.

    In the 2023-24 season, he played a pivotal role in leading the Gators to an NCAA Tournament berth, contributing significantly to their success.

    His performance included scoring a season-high of 23 points in a game against Alabama and being a key player in crucial matchups, such as scoring 22 points against North Carolina and hitting the game-winning layup against South Carolina.
