    Woman killed in fire incident at Ridgeways

    A 49-year-old woman was killed in a fire incident at a farm in Ridgeways area, Kiambu County.

    Police said four other people were injured in the incident that happened on October 16 at Kigua Farm.

    Two of them are in ICU at the Kenyatta National Hospital in serious condition.

    The woman identified as Annah Wanjiru succumbed to the injuries, police said.

    The fire is believed to have been caused by a gas cylinder explosion in one of the houses. The affected structures were staff quarters, police said adding six of them were flattened.

    The police are investigating the incident.

    Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident where a member of a street family stabbed and killed another one in a fight in Kiserian town, Kajiado County.

    It is not clear what triggered the fight. Police said they were called to the scene and found the body of the deceased with a stab wound in the stomach. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and identification.

    The assailant escaped the scene and efforts to trace him for grilling over the October 19, 2025 incident are ongoing.

    In Machakos’ Kyumbi area, police are investigating murder after a man was found dead on the Mombasa highway.

    The man identified as John Mutisya Mutuku, 21 was earlier reported to have gone missing in Kyelu Ranch which is in the area.

    This happened on October 12, 2025. He was found unconscious on the highway and rushed to the hospital where he died on October 19, 2025. Police said they are interrogating the ranch management as part of the probe into the murder.

    In Rioma, Kisii County, one Brian Obae, 27 died in hospital after he had been dropped there by unknown people.

    The body had wounds on the head and blood was oozing from the mouth and nose.

    Police said they are investigating murder in the incident.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
