    Nakuru Girls

Six female students have reportedly been kidnapped from a school in Nakuru. The students were reportedly kidnapped on Wednesday night but the school administration just informed the parents after more than 24 hours. During the kidnap, one of the watchmen at the school was reportedly killed.

An orphan, Edith Akinyi together with 5 other girls were kidnapped from Royal Girls School in Nakuru.  Edith is supported by a group of well wishers who became worried that they were being told of the disappearance of the girl after more than a day. Edith’s aunt who is living in Nakuru was called on Thursday at around 8-9 p.m when she was informed of the disappearance.

Tom Mauldin who sponsors Edith Akinyi complained,

I am so concerned that nothing seems to being done and they wait a whole 24 hours before the inform the parents. Seems they are more concerned about their reputation than the girls. In kidnappings it is proven that the first 48 hours are crucial–and likelihood of finding victims alive— decreases with each passing hour.

Efforts to get a comment from the school or the police headquarters is futile as the numbers of the Principal and the police spokesman are not being answered.
