Nelson Havi who has been a staunch supporter of the NASA coalition is conspicuously missing from the list of candidates that were cleared to contest. He has been vocal about wanting to change the systems and running of the law society of Kenya which has always seem to be politically partisan.

Ahmed Nassir a prominent lawyer took to twitter to break the news of the qualified candidates stating that the lawyers that had qualified would steer the society in the right direction. He termed the race as a two horse race between Gichuhi Allen and James Aggrey Mwamu leaving out Judith Sijeny who was also qualified.

Breakings News..Gichuhi Allen Waiyaki, Sijeny Judith Achieng & Mwamu James Aggrey cleared by LSK to contest President of the Law Society of Kenya. It is a two horse race between Allen versus Aggrey…two candidates supremely qualified to lead the society…in the right direction

It is speculated that Nelson Havi might have been disqualified by the age limit that he has been petitioning against, under the hash tag #agelimitmustfall. His petition stipulates the the set standards set by section 18 of the law society of Kenya act undermines the right of young lawyers to run for office . he says that the section was in contravention of Article 27 of the constitution.
