Jayme Monjardim Matarazzo Jr., commonly known as Jayme Matarazzo, is a Brazilian actor born on November 20, 1985, in Rio de Janeiro.
He comes from the prominent Matarazzo family, being the grandson of the renowned singer and actress Maysa Matarazzo and businessman André Matarazzo.
His father is the acclaimed television and film director Jayme Monjardim, and at the age of five, he moved to São Paulo with his mother, Fernanda Lauer, where he grew up until he was 21.
Siblings
Jayme’s sister, Maria Fernanda Matarazzo, grew up with him in São Paulo after their parents’ separation, and they maintained a close relationship during their formative years.
Additionally, he has a younger half-brother, André Matarazzo, born in 1998 to his father Jayme Monjardim and actress Daniela Escobar.
André has also ventured into the entertainment industry, appearing in projects that highlight the family’s ongoing involvement in film and television.
Career
Matarazzo began his acting career in the late 2000s, quickly establishing himself in Brazilian telenovelas and films.

He made his notable debut in the 2010 telenovela “Escrito nas Estrelas” (Written in the Stars), where he gained recognition for his performance.
This was followed by a role in the 2011 series “Cordel Encantado,” further solidifying his presence in television.
On the big screen, he appeared in films such as “The Supreme Happiness” in 2010, playing a young Paulo, and “Soul Bound” in 2011 as Otávio at 19 years old.
He continued to build his portfolio with telenovelas like “Tangled Hearts” in 2013, “Haja Coração” (Burning Hearts) in 2016 as Giovanni Rigoni Di Marino, and “Tempo de Amar” (A Time to Love) from 2017 to 2018 as Fernão Coelho de Abreu Moniz.
More recently, he portrayed Father Tenório Marques in “Além da Ilusão” in 2022 and Luca in “Família é Tudo” in 2024, showcasing his versatility across dramatic and romantic roles.
Beyond acting, he has made guest appearances, such as in “Que História é Essa, Porchat?” in 2022, and even played his own father in the 2015 miniseries Maysa – Quando Fala o Coração.

Throughout his career, Matarazzo has received recognition for his emerging talent in Brazilian television.
In 2010, he was nominated for the Extra Award in the Best Newcomer category for his work in “Escrito nas Estrelas.”
