The Ministry of Education will release the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results on Friday, January 9.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba will announce the results in Eldoret at 9:30am, according to ministry officials.

The KCSE examinations ended on November 21, 2025, after five weeks of exams that began on October 21. A total of about 996,000 candidates sat for the national examination, which determines students’ admission to universities, colleges and other higher learning institutions.

Speaking earlier during the Omogusii Cultural Festival in North Mugirango, CS Ogamba said the results would be released in January, in line with tradition.

“KCSE examination results are normally announced in January, and we are keeping to that tradition,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has already activated its online results portal. However, the results will only be visible after the Ministry of Education officially releases them.

KNEC said the early activation of the portal is meant to ensure the system is ready and can handle high traffic once the results are made public.
