UDA leaders from Gusii Sarturday strongly dismissed the united opposition team, terming it a “noise gong” with no clear agenda for the country.
In a blistering broadside , the leaders tore dismissed the Gachagua led them as nothing more than a “noise gong” — loud, chaotic, and utterly devoid of any clear agenda for the nation.
Led by South Mugirango MP Sylivanus Osoro, the group said the opposition leaders have already shown that they were good at trading “empty rhetoric and endless political grandstanding,” aimed at milking them public sympathy rather than offering viable solutions to Kenyans.
“The so-called united opposition is nothing but a noise gong. They are loud, yes — but they lack direction, structure, and a development plan for this country,” Osoro.
The leaders were speaking during a grassroot mobilisation meeting at Mwata area in Bonchari Constituency.
He was accompanied by Bonchari MP Aspirant Purity Kirera.
Osoro defended the government’s development track record, citing ongoing infrastructure projects in the area, among them the planned upgrading of the Suneka airstrip.
Already Sh400 million has been allocated from the National Treasury towards the airstrip project, the Chief Whip disclosed adding that Presidential William Ruto was committed to ensure it is completed ahead of the main poll.
Kirera , a director at Bomas of Kenya, said it was time the opposition paid attention to what the government has already done instead of “engaging in premature political campaigns and hawking rhetoric” across the country.
She also told Bonchari residents to remain united and unwaveringly supportive of the government initiatives, emphasizing that political stability is key to economic growth.
“We cannot fight for another government when we are already in government,” she stated.
Osoro also lashed out on the Opposition leaders for “specialising in politics of sloganeering and insults,” saying such tactics will not help them win public support or address the country’s challenges.
He vehemently defended Ruto, urging the opposition to shift from personal attacks to offering alternative policies that can improve the livelihoods of Kenyans.
“The politics of shouting slogans and abusing the President will not take you anywhere. Kenyans want solutions not the perennial noise in the streets,” Osoro said.
The outspoken legislator maintained that the Kenya Kwanza administration remains focused on delivering its development agenda, particularly in infrastructure, agriculture, and economic empowerment programs.
He accused the opposition of attempting to gain political mileage through constant criticism rather than constructive engagement.
Osoro further called for respectful political discourse, noting that while democracy allows divergent views, leaders must prioritize national unity and progress.
Speaking about the planned tour by the opposition to Kisii and Nyamira counties on Monday to Wednesday, Osoro called upon to residents to maintain peace and give thema fair hearing during their three-day tour set for Monday through Wednesday.
He urged constituents to uphold democratic values by allowing the opposition team to present their agenda without disruption.
The MP emphasized that political competition should be grounded in ideas rather than confrontation.
“Let them come and sell their policies peacefully. Listen to what they have to offer and then weigh whether it has substance,” the legislator said.
The united opposition leaders are expected to hold rallies and consultative meetings across major towns in the two counties, outlining their development plans for the country.
