Cody Ceci is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays as a defenceman in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Born on December 21, 1993, in Ottawa, Ontario, he is known for his size, skating ability, and steady defensive play.
Ceci comes from a highly athletic family; his father, Parri Ceci, was a standout receiver in Canadian university football and a 1984 Vanier Cup MVP, while his mother, Karen, was a figure skater who introduced all her children to the ice at a young age.
Drafted 15th overall by his hometown Ottawa Senators in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Ceci has forged a long NHL career as a reliable right-shot defenceman, playing for multiple teams including the Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, San Jose Sharks, Dallas Stars, and currently the Los Angeles Kings.
Siblings
Cody has two siblings, an older sister named Chelsea and a younger brother named Cole.
Chelsea was the first in the family to play hockey, inspiring Cody to follow her onto the ice.
Cole, the youngest, played as a goaltender in the Ontario Hockey League with the Oshawa Generals and has pursued a professional career in hockey, including time in the Southern Professional Hockey League and currently with the Romford Raiders in the NIHL in England.
Their parents, Parri and Karen, supported all three children in their athletic pursuits, creating a competitive yet supportive environment that helped shape Cody’s path to the NHL.
