Access Bank (Kenya) PLC and National Bank of Kenya (NBK) have introduced a strategic service integration that will allow customers of either institution to access selected in-branch services seamlessly across both banks.

The collaboration, which forms part of the ongoing integration process between the two lenders, enables tellers across the combined branch network to process core transactions, including account inquiries, cash deposits and withdrawals, and fund transfers.

The move effectively expands convenience for customers, creating a combined footprint of more than 100 branches countrywide. Both banks assured customers that existing accounts, cards, cheque books, and digital platforms remain valid, and that deposits are secure.

“This is about making banking simpler, faster, and more accessible,” said Ralph Opara, Access Bank Kenya’s Managing Director.

“By opening our networks to each other’s customers, we are also demonstrating our ambition to deliver greater choice, improved digital services, and stronger financial solutions.”

As the integration progresses, the two institutions expect to broaden their product offerings, combining NBK’s strong public sector and retail heritage with Access Bank’s global expertise and digital capabilities.

Retail and SME clients are set to gain wider access to digital channels, while corporate and multinational customers will benefit from cross-border trade finance and treasury management through Access Bank’s hubs in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

George Odhiambo, Managing Director of NBK, said the partnership underscores the customer-first approach of both lenders.

“This synergy with Access Bank Kenya is a clear demonstration of how collaboration within the banking industry can deliver real value to customers. Together, we are building an institution that will empower communities and support Kenya’s economic growth,” he said.

The two banks said the initiative is part of their shared vision to simplify banking, enhance customer experience, and support Kenya’s financial ecosystem through expanded reach and reduced service barriers.
