Homa Bay County communications director Juma Aluoch has succumbed to Coronavirus. Health Executive Richard Muga, said Aluoch passed away on Monday afternoon at the Homa Bay County Referral Hospital. He was undergoing treatment when he developed Covid-19 related complications. Aluoch was taken to the facility on Sunday due to chest pains. In a petition filed through her lawyer, Philip Murgor, Wairimu who was in 2019 charged with her husband’s murder, wants the trial declared a mistrial. 756 people have tested positive for the virus, from a sample size of 4,316 tested in the last 24 hours, bringing to 63,244 the number of confirmed positive cases in the country, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has confirmed. In a statement, the CS said the cumulative tests are now 746,797. Hell’s Gate MCA John Njuguna alias Wa-Sussy has succumbed to the novel COVID-19. The member of the Nakuru county assembly was receiving treatment at the Nakuru Nursing Home when he passed away. There is hope for the world after a Covid-19 vaccine candidate announced a breakthrough. Pfizer and BioNTech on Monday said that the newly found vaccine has proven to be 90 percent effective. 1,065 people have tested positive for the virus, from a sample size of 7,386 tested in the last 24 hours, the ministry of health has announced. All current appointments for submission of passport applications and biometrics enrollment have been cancelled. In a statement, the Immigration Department said this is in line with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive to scale down operations in government offices so as to curb the spread of Coronavirus. “We have downscaled our operations. Four Nairobi restaurants were on Friday shut down for flouting the Covid-19 protocols.
