Artiste Julius Owino alias Juliani has threatened to take legal action against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party, Jubilee, for using his song “Utawala” without his consent. The University of Nairobi (UoN) has been ordered to pay a former student Sh500,000 for delaying his master’s degree program for five years. Justice Weldon Korir faulted the institution for being unfair to the petitioner, Paulpeter Makanda Makokha, hence the compensation. “The petitioner has also established that the unwarranted delay in the completion of his master’s studies violated his right to education. Blogger Edgar Obare has allegedly been arrested at the Kiambu Law Courts, his friend and fellow blogger Xtian Dela has said. According to Dela, Obare’s case against YouTube sensation Natalie Tewa was due for mention this morning. In an Instagram post, Dela claimed that police confiscated Obare’s phone and his whereabouts still unknown. The accused person’s lawyer and family are also unaware of his whereabouts and reason behind the arrest. World Health Organisation (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is in quarantine after a contact tested positive for COVID-19. In a tweet, the former Ethiopia minister for Health said he will adhere to the WHO protocols and will be working from home. Four people have lost their lives following a freak accident at Kahoya in Timboroa, Baringo County. Confirming the Saturday morning incident was Eldama Ravine OCPD Maxwell Agoro who noted that the deceased persons were yet to be identified. The accident happened at 6 am. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officers have nabbed six suspects said to have smuggled 550 bags of unaccustomed sugar worth at least Sh2 Million in Bungoma. The sugar, branded “Lugazi”, is said to have been brought in from Uganda. The six were found at the home of one of the suspects at Sikata, Bungoma county. Narok Governor Samwel Tunai and two others on Saturday survived a chopper crash in Eldamat Narok County. The county chief was leaving for the burial of Tompo Ole Sai when the incident took place.
