A voter is seeking to have the ruling party, Jubilee, deregistered over failure to meet criteria of a political party under Article 91 of the constitution. Godfrey Musaina wants the Uhuru Kenyatta-led party blocked from receiving Sh161 million from the Political Parties Fund this financial year. Kenya’s largest telco Safaricom has joined the Kenya Union of the Blind (KUB), Kenya Society for the Blind (KSB) and AYUDH Kenya in supporting 100 visually impaired persons with white canes to mark White Cane Safety Day. The visually impaired persons are among beneficiaries of the ‘White Cane Campaign’ where the telco aims to distribute white canes to 20,000 blind and visually impaired persons across the country. Four people lost their lives on Wednesday night following a ghastly road accident along Mai Mahiu-Narok Highway. The deceased person were aboard a public service vehicle belonging to Narok line shuttle services, en route to Nairobi from Narok when the vehicle they were traveling in collided with a lorry head-on. Witness accounts indicate that the lorry was coming from the opposite direction at around 7 pm. Among the deceased was a police chaplain from Narok.
