Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) leadership is squabbling over a Sh10 million donation made by Deputy President William Ruto. The DP who is known for his church donations is said to have made the donation on March 30, 2019 towards the construction of a South Kenya Conference Headquarters in Nyanchwa, Kisii County. Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have been enjoined in a case involving Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu. The two have been directed to file and serve their submissions in the case in which Mwilu is challenging Judicial Service Commission (JSC) proceedings. Gatundu North parliamentary seat was on Wednesday declared vacant over violation of election laws. Justice Weldon Korir ordered the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct fresh elections. “I declare that the seat of the MP Hon Anne Wanjiku has become vacant,” Korir ruled. Justice Korir directed the Deputy Registrar to forward the ruling to the Speaker of the National Assembly for appropriate action. A Kenyan woman wants to return home after being held against her will by her employer in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Mwanaiki Said, 34, left for a job paying Sh30,000 per month in November 2019 but is now seeking to come back home after her employer physically abused her. According to her family, Mwanaiki’s female employer struck her on the head with a rod after she found the former making a cup of tea. Keroche Breweries family does not have confidence in Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji’s handling of their kin’s death inquest. In an affidavit filed in court, Tabitha Karanja said Haji could be under pressure not to prosecute those behind her daughter, Tecra Muigai’s death. “As a result of such conduct on the part of the DPP, we no longer have confidence in the DPP handling this matter,” Tabitha swore. Okumu takes Daniel Ndirangu’s place after he tendered in his resignation in December 2019 but stayed on to serve his notice period until July 2020. Okumu worked as the Head of Finance for eight years at Uchumi and in various finance capacities at Reckitt Benchiser and Keroche Breweries. The Nairobi Hospital has sacked CEO Dr Allan Pamba for declining to acknowledge and execute a performance improvement plan.
